I developed my love of literature with a steady diet of horror classics, the arts section of newspapers, National Geographic, punk rock album reviews, and psychology books. Diverse, yes, but all share a foundation of cohesive, captivating stories. The internet has forever changed the way we tell stories and I hope to continue discovering the intersection between storytelling and technology to efficiently and effectively captivate audiences.
A masters candidate in journalism at the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication, my research focuses on the relationship between music critics and women musicians. I received my undergraduate in journalism and emerging media from Kennesaw State University in 2017.
As a writer, editor, and researcher, I have experience in a variety of work including short and long form storytelling, breaking news reporting, copy editing, digital content creation, editorial strategy, and more. Currently, I work as a digital advertising copywriter on the CRM team for The Home Depot, the world’s largest home improvement retailer. Here, I find the balance between writing copy that is creative, while upholding industry brand standards.
Previously, I worked as the content strategist for the University of Georgia’s Mary Frances Early College of Education to create both print and digital stories to reflect efforts in research, outreach, news, and highlight the achievements of exceptional students and faculty.
Additionally, I’ve worked with a variety of publications — The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Creative Loafing, Atlanta magazine, Georgia Public Broadcasting, ArtsATL, Marietta Daily Journal, and more — as an editor and/or freelance writer. While each publication has a different target audience, each share common elements including the desire of brand identity based on credibility, require a basic understanding of data analytics to measure how stories are being discussed, shared, and used, and demand in-depth research.

“I can never read all the books I want; I can never be all the people I want and live all the lives I want. I can never train myself in all the skills I want. And why do I want? I want to live and feel all the shades, tones and variations of mental and physical experience possible in my life. And I am horribly limited.” ―
